I am also the Director of Exact Baseball.  We conduct baseball camps and showcases for high school players all over the country.  We have 25 camps scheduled for this year (June-Jan 2011) in all corners of the US.  The idea is simple: I bring in coaches from top baseball programs (Florida St, CS Fullerton, North Carolina, etc) to serve as instructors and evaluators during the 2 day camp.  This camp is a great opportunity for high school players to learn from top college coaches, and also to showcase their skills to these coaches that otherwise would never get to see them play.  For every camp, I will have coaches from all levels and also from all around the country, as not every kid wants to play locally.  For more information or to see our camp schedule, please visit www.exactbaseball.com

A little about EXACT:
We specialize in Athletic Assessments and Evaluations.  Our approach, while similar to a conventional combine, is significantly more advanced in terms of both employing state-of-the-science technology and sharing relevant information.
The traditional definition of athleticism as “physically strong and well-developed” is a misconception. While this helps tremendously, athletic ability is much broader and is more appropriately defined as the attributes of human performance that determine success in sports. EXACT believes these attributes can be separated into four groups:
  • Physical

  • Mental

  • Psychological

  • Technical Skills

We have taken a revolutionary new approach by integrating this athletic information into an absolute measure of ability.

With the exception of technical skills, EXACT directly tests athletes on each of these domains. This information is integrated into an analysis by EXACT’s team of leading scientists to provide coaches, athletes, and trainers with precise, comprehensive information on ability. In late 2005, EXACT Sports began offering this complete evaluation to male and female athletes in sports such as football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, hockey, and volleyball. Over the past few years, we have worked with a variety of groups including high schools, college teams (e.g. Rice, USC, North Carolina), training instructors (e.g. Ripken Baseball, and Velocity Sports Performance) and several professional leagues (e.g. NHL, USL, MSL, MISL).

Baseball Lessons

I am currently conducting baseball lessons in the Columbus area.  Lessons will be offered to kids ages 8-22.  Instruction will focus on the proper mechanics of the professional swing.  Instruction can also be given in other areas (defense, pitching, baserunning, bunting) at your request.  For the more advanced player, I will go into detail on the finer aspects of the game including training secrets, professional drills, and the proper mental approach to the game.  Please email me if you are interested in learning more.

Hometown Homers

The Hometown Homers Foundation is a charitable fund that I am in the process of setting up.  The basic premise is I will raise money through various means and then give away that money to deserving causes.  Money will be raised through different events at baseball games, private donations, silent auctions of autographed memorabilia, a golf outing and others yet to be determined.
